Osaka tour travellers unfazed by Japan’s soaring COVID cases

Holidaymakers were undeterred by rising COVID-19 infections in Japan as they embarked on a group tour to Osaka under the pandemic.

I interviewed excited travellers at the airport before they took off. Some said the trip was worth it because they had not travelled in three years and did not mind undergoing hotel quarantine upon returning to the city.

I also talked to travel agency boss Steve Huen, who called for the seven-day mandatory hotel quarantine to be dropped.
